It seems like a lifetime ago that I met these two gorgeous girls at a wedding fair I exhibited at back in September 2014. They were both such fun and I had a blast getting to know them and getting involved in their big day. We had lots of fun discussing what would suit their special day and a lot of honesty from me (sorry girls!) about what would and would not look right together!
They were married at The Quorn Country Hotel on a sunny day back in April. They both loved Gerberas. Amy loved the strong colours; hot pink, orange, yellow, red etc. Cassie preferred more muted colours. After much discussion, we decided to have orange and pale green as colours they could both include in their bouquets but we would keep hot pink for Amy and yellow for Cassie. Throw in a bit of variegated pittosporum and BAM! – prettiness ensued!
They had a theme of black and silver running through their wedding with their stationery so we had a nod to that running through the main flowers with silver buttons weaved through the bouquets and the top table arrangement. The stems of the bouquets were also wrapped in black satin with a silver ribbon corset to finish them off.
The girls chose to have orange Gerberas for their buttonholes and corsages. These were finished off with variegated pittosporum, ivy leaves and pearl headed pins to attach them. As it turned out, a lot of their family were in blue so the orange of the Gerberas really popped next to the blue of their outfits!
For their table centres, the girls chose to have fishbowls filled with clear aqua beads, grasses and floating Gerbera heads. They asked that I sink some water proof LED lights in there as well and topped them off with a smaller fishbowl with a silver candle inserted. The light really made the beads twinkle. We sat them in the centre of the tables on top of round mirrors.
We had loads of fun on the morning of the wedding and it was great to see Kerry from Beautiful You MUA and Lauren from Wedding Hair by Lauren again. It was lovely to meet Gavin at Gavin Aitken Photography. If you are looking for hair, make-up or a photographer for your day, check them out, they are such a lovely bunch of people. The girls looked beautiful in their dresses and it was a honor to be part of such a special morning. I stayed around to pin buttonholes and corsages on their guests and even helped Cassie put her shoes on! Here is a picture of me and the girls (yes, I’m that sweaty mess in the middle!).
As I mentioned earlier, Amy & Cassie were so much fun to work with. They hired an ice cream van for their guests after the ceremony and had a sweet buffet and a photo area with loads of fun props at their reception. They even invited me to share in their special day so I popped back in the evening to share a drink with the Newlyweds and toast to a happy future for them. Thanks so much girls! Here’s to a lifetime of happiness for you both. x
Thanks go to Gavin at Gavin Aitken Photography for the beautiful photos, yes, even the one with me in it! Thanks Gavin.
