David & Zuli, 3rd April 2015

This was an unusual wedding of sorts as I never actually met the bride and groom!  Zuli and David live in Spain and had entrusted the task of their wedding with various family members.  The flower part fell to Zuli’s Aunt, Jenny, and her mother, Kathleen.  Zuli was super chilled out about everything and had sent a few pictures to Jenny of things that she liked the look of.  Jenny and Kathleen popped in to see me one afternoon armed Zuli’s e-mails and a small brief and and left the rest to me!

They knew that Zuli wanted a hand-tied bouquet with lilacs, pretty pale pinks, creams and greens and this was what I came up with.

I used Sweet Avalanche roses, Vendella Roses, lilac freesias, pink Veronica, white September flower, green/white Trachelium and small leafed variegated pittosporum.  The result was so pretty and very girly.

For David’s buttonhole, I used the same flowers that were in Zuli’s bouquet with the Sweet Avalanche rose, a lilac freesia and some green Trachelium, finished off with dark ivy leaves.

The happy couple held their whole wedding day in The Old Stables at The Griffin Inn in Swithland, Leicestershire.  It was a beautifully sunny day for them and the venue is stunning.

They had a small affair and wanted a few simple jam jar decorations for the tables.  I used flowers as the rest of the wedding but finished them off with lace and twine.  I also provided them with some log slices and decorated them with tendrils of trailing ivy to finish them off.
